The proceeds from the Flower Festival are dedicated to the conservation and maintenance of St Margaret’s Church, a Grade I listed building.
Funds are managed by The Friends of St Margaret’s (Registered Charity No. 1104625) and play a crucial role in preserving the church for future generations.
Thanks to previous Flower Festivals, we have been able to:
Build a new kitchen and toilet
Replace the central heating system
Improve wheelchair access
Repair floor tiles and repoint stonework
Upgrade lighting and resurface pathways
Install a spiral staircase for safe access to the bell tower
Your support ensures the continued care of this historic church. Thank you for being part of its story!
In order to see all the Open Gardens and attractions, a certain amount of walking will be required but there are lots of opportunities to sit and rest; admire the gardens, pause by the river, listen to the bands, take refreshments in one of the many locations. In addition there will be a free golf-buggy shuttle service along the length of Common Lane.
There is not a village shop but there is a pub - The Axe & Compass - a thatched 17th century, Grade II listed building. The nearest village shop is in the neighbouring village, Hemingford Grey.
